Academy Profile

Global Virtual Academy (GVA) is a K-12 program within the Peninsula School District. GVA started in the spring of 2008 as Peninsula Internet Academy. We are taking the best of what we have done to make it even better and more responsive to the needs of our students.

In-person support is available from our GVA mentors in the Henderson Bay building. Students can speak with their mentor by: phone, email, messaging, or in person.

MENTORS:

Cristina Roberts -  Resource, robertsc@psd401.net

Maria Hays - Grades K-8, haysm@psd401.net

Andrea Kurtz - Grades 10 - 11, kurtza@psd401.net

John Rosi, Grades 9 - 12, rosij@psd401.net

Students can register for credit recovery courses to catch up on graduation requirements. Some students take online classes to accelerate their graduation or enrich their learning experiences beyond those offered in our traditional schools, such as computer programming electives, World Languages and/or AP courses. We also offer an alternative for students and counselors who are unable to fit every desired class in the regular school schedule.

Accreditation

GVA is accredited from the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. Many courses are NCAA approved.
