August 5 School Reopening Information

Good Afternoon PSD Families,

We hope this message finds you well.

After hearing the news of our district going fully remote this fall, we know you may have more questions than we have answers for right now. 

Each day district leaders and staff are working through the multiple complexities of producing a remote learning plan that meets our expectations for a robust and reliable education system you have come to know from the Peninsula School District. 

We are balancing decisions that have great effect on our families and staff, and mostly students. To do this well, all of our decisions must be carefully considered from many angles. While we process our decisions, we are mindful that you need, and deserve, answers for what school will look like in the fall.

Although we planned to share our Remote Learning 2.0 Guide today, we have realized we need a few more days to ensure our guidebook is the best possible resource we can provide to you, addressing a comprehensive range of topics integral to Remote Learning 2.0. Our new publication date is Monday, August 10. Please note, the guide will be shared as a draft version until final review and approval by the Peninsula School Board of Directors at the Thursday, August 13 board meeting.

We value you as a partner in your child’s education and we want to hear from you as we work to make our Remote Learning 2.0 a success for everyone. We will hold two focus groups via Zoom to listen to families and students next week:

• Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 10am to Noon
   
• Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 5pm to 7pm

Each session has a limited number of participants. After registering, you will receive an email to confirm your registration. The initial confirmation email will not include Zoom invitation details. Attendees for each focus group will be emailed unique Zoom invitations to their respective events on the day of the focus group meeting.
