Orca Cards at School

Orca Cards at School

All youth ages 18 and under in Washington State can access public transit for free as a part of the “Move Ahead Washington '' funding package. Peninsula School District students can pick up their free youth Orca cards at their schools. Please check with your school to find out when cards will be available for pick-up.

In the Puget Sound region, youth can ride free on these transit agencies:

  • Community Transit;

  • Everett Transit;

  • King County Metro;

  • King County Water Taxi;

  • Kitsap Ferries;

  • Kitsap Transit;

  • Pierce Transit; and

  • Sound Transit.

As of Oct. 1, 2022, youth are able to ride Washington State ferries for free with a youth pass Orca Card.

Youth can use a current Orca Card or a student ID during the 2022-2023 school year to access free transit. Orca Cards are available for students at their schools. Any student or family interested in a free youth Orca Card can request one at their school’s front office.

Once a student receives their Orca Card, they need to register the card online at myORCA.com.

If a student misplaces their youth Orca Card, they should;

  • Contact their school for a replacement card; or

  • Order a new card from myORCA.com

Replacement cards are free until the end of the 2022-2023 school year. After that, a $3 replacement fee will be set.
