Want to compete at an NCAA school?
Create an eligibility account at the NCAA website. It's recommended to create an account during your freshman year in high school.
Register with the NAIA to connect with coaches, resources, and scholarship opportunities.

Testing requirements differ for each higher educational institution. Be sure to check testing requirements for admissions.

Show colleges you're ready - Register for the SAT by creating a College Board account.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.
The ASVAB can be taken either at a recruiting center or at your high school. Contact your Career Center to find out testing dates.

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE MILITARY?
Why join the military?
Many choose to enlist because of their patriotism and a sense of duty. Joining the military also provides job training and economic stability. There is pay and benefits, travel opportunities, and educational opportunities. You must be a U.S. Citizen or a resident alien to enlist.
During your freshman and sophomore year:
- Research different military branches and career opportunities.
- Attend a college and career fair at your high school. Check the calendar for upcoming events.
- Make sure you are on the path toward graduation.
- Start planning CTE courses that align with your chosen military career path. Meet with your counselor to learn more.
- Consider joining the NJROTC program.
During your junior and senior years:
- Continue your research.
- Attend the college and career fair at your high school. Check the calendar for upcoming events.
- Meet with a local military recruiter.
- Take the ASVAB both years. Sign up Here.
- Speak with your counselor about joining a college ROTC program.
In your senior year:
- Enlist with your local recruiter after you turn 17.
- Pass a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) medical exam.

Want to find an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction, all under the supervision of a journey-level professional. Apprentices are paid while they learn and are a stepping stone into a trade career. Apprentices who graduate from a state-registered program receive professional credentials that are recognized nationwide.
