PSD Receives Purple Star District Recognition Second Time in a Row

For the second time in a row, the Peninsula School District has been named a Purple Star School District by the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA). This recognition shows that we are a military-friendly school district and have specifically trained our staff to understand, help transition, and support our military students.

“The Purple Star Award Program recognizes school districts that support military-connected students and families by addressing educational, social, and emotional challenges,” according to WASA.

To earn this two-year award, PSD had to meet specific criteria, including maintaining a resource webpage for military families, appointing a trained liaison, providing professional development to staff, and fostering a military-friendly culture.

PSD has many resources, programs, and events that benefit military-connected families. To learn more, visit our website at www.psd401.net/purplestar.
